My Story
After re-discovering my passion for painting , I decided to create little painted craft gifts for my family and friends .
In 2019 I converted a spare room into a home art studio and began showcasing and selling my work at local craft fairs.
In 2020, I was fortunate enough to open a small pop-up shop in the Fish Market on Beresford Street here in Jersey. What began as a short-term venture has now become a permanent part of the market. Five years on, Jo’s Painted Pebbles is well established, with a loyal base of regular customers and holidaymakers who return year after year to see what’s new.
In 2023, after numerous requests from my lovely social media followers to share how I paint my shells, I published my first book Art on Scallop Shells- a step-by-step guide to 12 of my favourite designs. Since then, I’ve added the individual patterns as digital downloads on Etsy, making it easy to try them at home.
This year, I’ve also published two colouring books (a scallop themed one for adults and a mermaid and nautical themed one for children) , a photo book showcasing my painted artwork, and “Jersey Shells – Jo’s Guide to 20 of the Most Popular Finds on the Beaches of Jersey”, a fun and educational guide for young beachcombers.
